Meditation in Abingdon for Beginners
Starting Summer 2021, I will offer a small beginners meditation class in the Samatha Buddhist tradition.
Participants will learn and practice a series of exercises for calming the mind and body using the breath.
By regular daily practice the chattering, unruly mind gradually becomes calmer and clearer. The way our mind works becomes less confusing to us and we begin to understand the habits of mind that hold us back from happiness and freedom. We become kinder to ourselves and those around us.
This form of meditation is particularly suitable for those looking for a way to develop meditation practice and the benefits it can bring, whilst continuing with the challenges of everyday life.
Classes are held on Tuesday evenings at 19:45 at St Ethelwold’s in Abingdon town centre. There is no charge for the teaching but we ask for a small donation to cover costs and support St Ethelwold’s. Classes last about an hour and will run for an initial period of 12 weeks.
If you’d like to join us, please get in touch and we’ll be in touch to confirm the details soon!
